A new API response can contain hundreds of fields. JSON Lens helps you move from a broad outline to the exact field you need.

Start with two levels

Paste the response and choose Tree View. Two levels reveal the main groups without expanding every nested object. Choose 1 level for an overview or 3 levels for more detail. All levels works for smaller documents, subject to the visible-node cap.

Search for a field or value

Try searching for name or a known value. Matches are case-insensitive. The tree opens their ancestor branches, while Pretty JSON highlights matching text. The match counter counts nodes. Clear search restores the previous folded state.

Copy the location

For this document:

Copy path next to name returns $.companyOfficers[0].name. The root marker makes the path explicit. For a key such as postal-code, the path uses $["postal-code"]. These are property-access paths, not a full query language.

Use the available space

Drag the divider to give the tree more room. Expand the output to full screen when inspecting a large structure; press Escape to return. Click individual branches to control detail.

Keep exports complete

Search does not trim your data. Copy JSON and Download JSON include the full parsed document, even when the tree displays only matches.
